I don't really have one, but I hear it a lot...

'I'm using it as a show..." blah. Maybe it's just me, but what does it really imply?

I haven't the faintest idea. Perhaps it is some of the slang lingo so loosely bandied about by the young people?

I think of it as "wall art"

Not playable, but it looks pretty.

Or, it could be the other way around: a special instrument that's so gorgeous and expensive that you only play it on special occasions. If I were invited to perform on "The Tonight Show" I'd definitely bring my "show" instrument rather than my everyday beater.

I think it depends on the context.
