When a song calls for a high C, is that a variation of the standard C chord further down the fretboard? Or is it something else??

Thanks for the help,
Rod

I dunno if this is correct, but i usually play 5433.

Or you can play 9787.

"A" string depressed at the 7th fret. The "G", "C" and "E" strings are strummed open. Datz a Hi-C. Ric

Doubling the third. Yeah. Don't know why that didn't occur to me.

(Y'know those signs that say "Slow Children Playing?" Yeah, there was one of them in my 'hood when I was little.)

This is correct, it's not the correct way to denote this chord, but that is what people in Hawaii call it. If you ever see it on any Hawaii sheet music site, this is what they mean.

What's incorrect about it?

or as 10 12 12 12

That's F C E A. I thought we were talking a C chord here, C E G. 12 12 12 10 would do it, doubling the 5 again, like mine.
