Uke Lesson 31 - Rodeo Clowns

Hey UUers!

It's a new month and a new episode of Uke Lessons for you to devour and digest:

Uke Lesson 31 - Rodeo Clowns

Written by Jack Johnson and recorded by both Johnson and G. Love & Special Sauce, this song is a pretty interesting one. The intro is based on a lot of alternate chord positions, so take it slow, practice, and once you've got the chord shapes down it should be cake. Questions, comments, thoughts, suggestions, compliments on Russ' smooth 'n' sexy guitar playing, praise/reproval of our choice to teach yet another Jack Johnson song?? Post them all below!

Thanks for breaking this one down Aldrine and nice job on the play-along! Russ too - good job! Thanks guys!

My ukulele hasn't got a 13. fret. What to do?

I guess you own a Brüko Ukulele with 12 frets?
Buy yourself at least one cheap ukuele with 15++ frets.
A lot of the monthly lessons make use of the frets 13-15 :)

But you can also try to play those notes on a lower octave

I love these lessons, heaps of fun and the play along is even better - thanks heaps Aldrine et al!

Just one question - is it just me or does the chorus sound better as C#m - G# - A - F# ?
(ie. switch the 2nd C#m for an A)

I guess everyone has their take on it :)
