I vi IV V in any key has served for generations! "Stand By Me" is a classic example, but there are TONS... If you don't understand that, it's harmonic speak for the triad built (in thirds, of course) on that note of the scale, so if you are in C, the first note would be C, then E, then G to form the triad, and so on. The sixth note in the scale is A and it would be minor because you would go ACE. When you hear someone say 12 bar blues is a I IV V (one four five), that's what they are talking about. Almost all the doo-wop stuff has that I vi (minor 6) IV V thing going on. When you think of chords in those terms, transoping from one key to the next get real easy!

Tiger Rag, most of it is one chord that sets up a neat progression in the bridge

Another neat one is Pachelbel Canon, it's equal parts D, A, Bm, F#m, G, D, G, A, then starts over. Strum it fast and it's an upbeat folk tune.
