Stupid noob question. I can't quite tell from the video....do you strum with your index finger or your middle finger? I'm trying to find a comfortable right hand technique....

i kind of mix it up. when i'm singing, i usually strum with my middle and ring finger together.
if i'm strumming thru a break, i'll strum with my index finger for volume (i tend to keep that nail a little longer than the others).
if there is an actual solo (as in this song), i pick with thumb and index finger.
sounds like i plan all this out very carefully, huh?
believe me, i don't. it just happened that way.

I appreciate the explanation. I always thought the left hand would be the big problem, but I'm still thumb-strumming with my right....gotta get past that!
