Hi everybody, im a new member, well relativly first post on forum, but i have been trolling the forums for a week or so. ANNNYYYYYWAYYYYY, down to my question. im gunna buy an Electric ukulele, and im talking solid body through amp ukulele. Im aware of Eleuke, and as far as i know Eleuke is the only supplier of solid body electric ukulele. i have done a site wide search and trolled the internet for awhile but i dont really know and i didnt come up with anything else. i just want to look at all of my options thank you all very much for your time.
is eleuke the only brand of solid body electric ukuleles

There are other solid body electrics too. I have one from Vietnam made by Antoniotsai. His ukes are beautiful and inexpensive, but his non-solid ukes have a reputation for cracking and drying unevenly not log after shipment. I bought mine on Ebay for less than 20 bucks, plus 80 more for shipping, and I figure that there is not as much chance of problems occurring on the little solid body.
At the higher end you can find Risa ukes from Europe
And now Fluke makes a nice solid body electric in the US.
There are probably others too.

that airline uke looks exactly like the jazz series eleuke. :rofl:
i haven't tried any of the other solid-body ukes, but most people who have had eleukes (including myself) absolutely love them. if you decide to seriously think about an eleuke, talk to mim (her username on this board) or go to her website http://www.mimsukes.com/, she can totally hook you up

You can find them on eBay for good prices, and I hear they're pretty good quality.
I really love electric ukuleles. If you have the spirit inside you that wants to jam on electric guitars, but you want to do it through ukuleles, electric ukes will do it.
I especially like the Risa electric ukes. I think they're a cut above the rest; though they cost a bit more. They're made in Germany and are made by a company that specialises in electric ukulele.

They also have steel-string electric ukuleles, which are the "true" electric ukulele equivalent to electric guitars.
Nylon string electrics are technically "acoustic", since piezo pickups are for amplifying acoustic instruments.

if you want to get a Risa uke-stick, I advise getting the Concert and requesting for the one with geared tuners. They used to only come with friction tuners, but if you like geared they're available from ukulele.de

I don't trust stagg. My experience with other instruments and accessories has not been good. Plus how do they get the prices so low without utilising small people to make them a la nike?

(just another reason to hate bing, terible search results im goin back to google.) anyway i still think im gunna get the sunburst eleuke, although that airline ukue is awesome, the sunburst is just in a better price range for me.... a 14 yr old boy.... so basically CHEAP!!! whachutalkinbout willis? eleuke isn't done by antoniotsai. my eleuke was made in china, not vietnam, and is indestructible. it sounds good and the electronics are great. so, unless you can come up with some kind of proof that eleuke is done by antoniotsai, i wouldn't say stuff like this.
fwiw, eleuke is a GREAT uke for the money.

Speaking as someone with family who works for Nike - it is easy to pick on the largest sportswear company in the world and slam them. However, the fact is that the economy has pretty much demanded that manufacturing in industrialized nations be shifted to the third world. It's not just Nike, son, it's all of them.

Back to the topic of ukes - there are plenty of high quality ukulele makers producing in the USA. My first was right from your Oregon neighborhood, a Bradford made in Cannon Beach and purchased in Astoria, at a price much lower than the ones from China sell for in my local Juneau store - and it's a much better sounding instrument.
