We were shooting some photos and uking out at the Everglades recently, and managed to coax an eastern lubber grasshopper to "sit in" briefly on my concert Flea.

He didn't seem too impressed. Maybe he's more of a tenor guy. But he sure had the right color scheme going on!

That's very cool! He is a perfect match in color and pattern (or as close as you're likely to get with an actual insect). Bravo!

very cool. What sound does it make if you strum it? My guess is more of a crunch, but...

Wow - that's a good sized grasshopper. Beautiful specimen too.

All in all a very cool photo.

That's a really cool picture! Gotta love the kind of wrap around aspect of it all. ...What if the uke was made of wood from a tree that the grasshopper used to sit on... that'd be awesome!

Here's a shot of the grasshopper's departure - he just walked indignantly up the fretboard (executing a flawless Bbmaj7 at one point), and used the headstock as his exit ramp.

Awesome photos. I like the one at the headstock. It's like he's inspecting it. Heh.

I love Flukes and Fleas with walnut necks. My Kente has it, and it matches the color scheme beautifully.

I'd like a clip-on tuner that looks like that 'hopper!

I'd like prints of both those pictures, myself!
