Jake, I did the same as you. When I was ready to step up, I bought a Mainland. It feels like I hit a homerun on the first swing. I can't imagine ever being without a Mainland concert. As a great man once said... "GO TEAM MAINLAND!"

Red Cedar only comes in gloss. And it's beeyooteeful.

BTW, the red cedar soprano is a uke with range and balance... I can play it loud, soft and everything in between and it still sounds great. In short, and I'll talk about the soprano here...this is not a one trick pony ukulele.
