Banjo Uke Bridge

I have recently aquired a couple of old banjo ukes and am looking forward to trying them out, but neither of them has the original bridge. I was looking in the Stew Mac catalog and found a 5/8" bridge for a four string banjo and was wondering if that would work, and what modifications (if any) it would need. Any other pointers on restoration of these ukes, and improving the playability would be greatly appreciated.

5/8" might give you too high action. go to elderly.com, see if you can find a 1/2" bridge for a four string. if you can't, buy a 5/8", try it out, if your action's too high, sand it down.

edit: sand it down ON THE BOTTOM. not the top. keep that ebony cap.

RE-EDIT:

MAKE SURE it's the bridge that's too high, not a slightly bowed neck.
