eBay Deal- is it worth it?

This Tenor Ukulele is one ive never seen before, and for the UK it is a bargain tenor. £45 in all (thats about $72) it looks to be good condition and would be a great addition to my growing UAS collection......but should i?
 
i suppose that this is a lesson in the nature of UAS vs. the human mind. UAS says "BUY IT GET IT" and if you dont follow the advice and instead listen to your mind ("should i? do i have enough money? do i really need another one?") then chances are you are going to lose out.

dont worry, they couldnt spell excellent so they arent to be trusted :)
 
Looked like a good buy to my limited knowledge.
Hey ukulelejarr am I missing something with the c chord - teacher jumping out of the window joke? Is it a gag for music teachers, I don't get it? I will proberly look really silly when it is explained.
 
i read that gag with interest too - I'm figuring its that the C chord is about as easy as they get on the uke, and for kids to screw up with Cmaj7 which is same string, but second fret not third, shows they have no hope?

Or am I missing summink too?
 
i recently helped out with a ukulele class.... all little kids, who all couldnt play the c chord after an hour and a half. i certainly felt like jumping out the window.... but it was a ground floor building.
 
ahhh - well, at least they know the Cmaj7, with a tiny bit more effort they will no doubt (accidentally) figure the C7 as well....

yes it is a blue moon. played a few at a festival store once - not impressed - ones i had were poorly finished, or poor action / intonation, or both.

For £55 I'd be very wary, especially as it is a "fancier" design.

my dad has agreed to sub me £100 to buy a new uke at the music store in manchester. at least i will be able to try before i buy!!

and ive never used amazon....its not paypal compatable.

Which music store out of interest? I was in Forsyths in the deansgate in Manchester the other week and they've got a great selection of ukes so they'd be worth trying if that's not where you're going already!
 
I do like Forsyths selection (though not their prices)

If you see one you like, I'd shop around and see if you can get it at Southern Uke Store or similar. My usual trick (if you have one) with buying anything from coffee pots to cars is go try what you want, then take a break from the store - google the item on your phone and check prices - either use that to haggle or just buy elsewhere

(note - I dont like haggling with small independent specialists like SUS or Highly Strung - but Forsyths are BIIIIGG shop)
 
I remember seeing this exact tenor in Marketplace a month or two ago, owned by a girl who didn't like it due to the uncomfortable size and shape of the body as well as the high action. She was letting it go, though, and I think that her price was less than this auction. If you look around I'm sure you'll spot the post.
 
If its Dawsons, then in my view DEFINITELY pricey! - shop around!
