Linnnett,,, Forget about the strum patterns for now. First work on being able to move from one chord to another smoothly ,,,, and just go with a up / down strum. Once you have the song down "smoothly' your strum will begin to accent itself,, as you get comfortable and are just able to let your own personality to shine thru.
Ive heard it said , and believe it true, your left hand is your brain,,, your right your personality.
Theres nothing wrong with adopting someone elses strum patterns,,,, but probably not in your first few months.
In a couple of months you will play things you only imagine now,, if you just stick with it. your ability will increase . at a surprising rate
Steve

mm stan,

Sorry for my lack of understanding....but I can't make heads or tails out of your "tab". What do the numbers mean? I've never seen notation like this....

I echo Swampy Steve's sentiments. Don't worry about the strum for now. Start out as simple as possible. Try 4 downstrokes - D D D D.

Also, I don't know where you got those chords, but they're incorrect.

Love Me Tender
[G] Love me tender, [A7] love me sweet, [D7] never let me [G] go.
[G] You have made my [A7] life complete, [D7 ]and I love you [G] so.
[G] Love me [B7] tender, [Em] love me [G7] true, [C] all my [Cm] dreams ful-[G] filled.
[G] For my [E7] darlin' [A7] I love you, [D7] and I always [G] will.

[G] Love me tender, [A7] love me long, [D7] take me to your [G] heart.
[G] For it's there that [A7] I belong, [D7] and we'll never [G] part.
[G] Love me [B7] tender, [Em] love me [G7] true, [C] all my [Cm] dreams ful-[G] filled.
[G] For my [E7] darlin' [A7] I love you, [D7] and I always [G] will.

[G] Love me tender, [A7] love me dear, [D7] tell me you are [G] mine.
[G] I'll be yours through [A7] all the years, [D7] ‘til the end of [G] time.
[G] Love me [B7] tender, [Em] love me [G7] true [C], all my [Cm] dreams ful-[G] filled.
[G] For my [E7] darlin' [A7] I love you, [D7] and I always [G] will.

I agree with the mailman.....can't figure this out. Seeso's got the right chords. Just use a SLOW and simple D U strum. Practice and you will get it.

Aloha Mailman and molokinirum, as JongM noted before...
the letters are the strings played, in this instance CEA, and the numbers are the frets to be picked in that order...in this instance 1,2, or 3
and 0 means open fret picked...

if you need further assistance or explanation....jus ask
MM Stan....
