For Sale: Customized Martin S-O

FOLKS: This Martin is still up for sale! NOW WITH A NEW PRICE!!! Grab it while you can!

You may know that we're adopting. We hope to have a little boy from Russia by Wintertime. So I've got to make room in my closet for our new family member's clothes! Therefore, I'm selling some great ukuleles, a couple which I never thought I'd part with.

But things change. We need the space. And the money!

Here is info on the Martin:

1990's Martin S-O, with hardshell case:
For years it's been my favorite ukulele. But when deciding which ukes to keep, I couldn't get rid of the ones made by individual luthiers. This uke has a great sound to it. - It has a cool-sounding "crunch" when it strums (if you know what I'm talking about). It had a small split in the back which was repaired with Mahogany braces (as seen in the photos). This happened because Martin does not make braces that span the entire back! With this repair, it is actually a better instrument than before.
I also had inlay dots put in above the bridge (see photos), by Tom Guy of Bluegrass Ukuleles. The pearl dots look great and make this a unique Martin!
Here's a video comparing the Martin with my other sopranos.

It's half price! If I hadn't just spent £400 ($800) on wretched ukuleles, I'd snap this up. Can't believe no-one's bought it yet.

It would be half price if it was a pre-1970's Martin. This one is Mexico-made and retails for $300. With the added bracing and inlays, plus being truly the best sounding new-era Martin I've ever heard, I priced it accordingly.

Hi - is the Harmony in the youtube comparison video for sale? I love the way it sounds!

Alan: Great to hear about your adoption of a little boy from Russia. I had the privilege of traveling to St. Petersburg, Russia almost 2 years ago. I went with a Barbershop Chorus here in Richmond. One of our highlights was visiting an orphanage just outside of the city. The kids were so welcoming and happy to see us. The very best to your expanding family!

Try selling it to the UK. These cost £300 here new, so $300 is practically half-price. You people are so lucky - buying a uke from the states is like everything's in a half-price sale. ($ for £))

I'm holding on to that one for a little while longer. Further research tells me it's from the 1920's or 30's. I'm going to try out different brands of strings on it to fully explore its sound.

Thank you, Ron. I once partied with the Yale Men's Russian Chorus. Yes, there was vodka present!

I thought I'd repost the whole thing for you all to see.
