So my brother got the ukulele which I will trade him for in september, and it sounds incredible.

I think the strings it comes with go best with this ukulele, although i do think it may sound a bit better with aquilas. For its price, I think it could be sold for higher, but fortunately, its a very good uke for its price :)

P.S. I've had no buzzing problems on any of the frets :)

So go check out their ukuleles and guitars and banjos :)

Links for those interested or looking for a ukulele or guitar, or maybe banjo :)

Hopefully this has been helpful to you guys.

I've been keeping an eye on the Luna ukes- interested in a full review - sound test?

How's the projection? I've heard Lunas are a bit on the quiet side.

really? I kinda thought there was only one kind of aquila uke strings. I've got aquilas on my makala right now and it feels softer than the ones on the luna o_O

There are slightly different gauge sizes of Aquilas for different sizes of ukuleles. The strings will also be a different tensions dependant on the ukulele length so the strings will feel slightly different. Also, Aquilas straigth out of the package will feel kind of stiff and will take a while to mature in sound and softness.

I am pretty sure Luna ukuleles, for most part, come with Aquila strings unless they are the older modelss that had some quality control issues.

I wanted to get a Luna at one time because the designer tailors much of her instruments for people with smaller hands. She designs things with her petite mom in mind. The mom is a rocker who developed back problems later in life because the guitars she used were way to big for her.

Didn't get a Luna because the supplies were limitted at the time.

I got one of the early Luna soprano ukes late last year. The strings were Aquilas.
While I sold it to make room for more ukes, I knew that at some point I'd treat myself to another Luna. I also had an email inquiry that I'd addressed to the contact us address for the Luna site replied by Yvonne DeVilliers herself.
I'm just waiting for the left handed electronic version to come out. There will be plug in versions of the Luna Tattoo Concert.
I wish they'd do some more sopranos too. Something luscious like their blue dolphin concert.

too bad they wont release any new ukes until spring... thats what yvonne said when i emailed her /:

spring or december.... idk.

I have a Luna Tattoo concert and it is brilliant! great to play, looks beautiful, sounds awesome. It is my second favourite uke(only second because I feel more comfortable playing a soprano). I would do a review but im no expert(or anywhere close) I feel I would do it an injustice. Anyway I would recommend them highly for the price they are top quality. And I have to say I admire them for doing something different with there designs.

My best friend borrowed a temporary tattoo concert and it sounds so great when she plays it. She's going to help me improve my uke skills when she's done finishing a course that she's doing. I'm really looking forward to using the Luna uke because it sounds pretty nice but I guess we will both have to purchase our own eventually (worth it though).

We are considering getting Lunas for our 2 girls since they play our Mainlands all the time and ignore the cheaper ukes we got them. I was willing to spring for a couple of Mainlands since I just got an unexpected bonuse from work but I think they feel they need a bit more bling so I am looking at the Luna Dolphin and Floral.

I am just curious if those of you who have played Lunas feel the intonation is good, especially at the 12th fret?

Thanks

I am totally in LOVE with the floral concert! I took my first lesson and how did the instructor know to pull that one off the wall to play with!! ARGH! Made me not like mine (a week old) so much anymore. It wasn't in my budget. I am loving playing so much I will find a way to have it eventually!!
It sounded amazing! Looks beautiful and sounded amazing too. It had aquila's and it made me come home and order some for my uke....

A girl has got to have dreams right?

cletus... You are my new best friend! I dropped it in the amazon cart so my hubby has a constant reminder! It's a great price too! It must be bad to have UAS when I haven't even had my first uke for a week!

Now off to finish chores so I can practice!! Can't wait!

Thanks, a dolphin should be arriving UPS this week. The other daughter opted for the Ibanez Iceman.

I have been checking out the Luna 3/4 Guitars. Looks like it would be a sweet little guitar for playin at home

"Dreams" equals UAS. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Cheers!

UU has taught me that UAS is an unavoidable side effect of playing ukulele!

I also loved the floral concert but was justifying my purchase as a uke to take camping - don't want to spoil the finish on my Kala! I opted for the Tattoo Concert, smaller for travelling, still has some bling - although the laser etchingon the body is lovely I thought the inlay on the fretboard and the pearlised tuning pegs looked plasticky and a little cheap - just me?

A nice sound, adequate for my needs and came with Aquilas. My bro who know more about these things thought the bridge was a little high which could cause problems for high fretting, I do wonder if it sounds a little plunky but that's probably just me :s

It's currently on loan to a friend who's just learning, the prettiness of the tattoo certainly piqued her interest. Following a meetup with other players and having had a look at a selection of ukes she fancies a black flying V!
