just a fun convert... tenor banjo plus C tuning Aquila Baritone strings equals awesome octave banjo ukulele.

in case your wondering, the impact at the end is a friend throwing a tea bag at me ....:wallbash: oh well :)

I tried that same thing but couldn't get any volume out of it.

mines got plenty of volume, the proofs in my parents telling me to be quiet.... but to be fair it was 10pm.... im planning to make an electric otave ukulele with a friend soon, but it suits the banjo a treat.

i cant think why the volume would have failed on your attempt....i just brought, re-strung, prayed and played.

That's what I did. Oh well.

Cool! That would sound great in a duo with a standard tuned uke!

This is really, really cool. How much did the tenor banjo run you?

You can get older, entry level tenor banjos for right around $100 on eBay.

Cool - are fingerpicks okay on nylon strings? I want to try them out. I'm assuming metal is out of the question.
