I have uploaded a short video of my new soprano uke in mango and spruce with a figure of eight headstock, This is the same uke that was seen "under construction" at the Cheltenham ukulele festival I contrast it with the Monkeypod tenor I made back in May.

The soprano top isn't as loud as my mahogany soprano but the sound has opened up a little since I put the Martin Fluorocarbon strings on, (The aquila nylgut didn't sit as well with his uke)

quick note! I have been made a youtube partner this week, which was great! but one of the problems this does bring is I can not play covers or songs without written permission and still get the benefits of the partnership....hence the adhoc improvisation in the video.

Matt, It was lemon shellac flakes over a very dry linseed ground, I was trying to make an antique looking spruce finish for this one, BTW the bridge was attached after finishing! I love shellac as a finish but I am thinking of moving to something more durable!!
