Never had the opportunity to contrast and compare scale lengths between soprano, concert and tenor.

A soprano uke has a 13" scale length
and is usually about 21" total length.

A concert uke has a 15" scale length
and is usually about 23" total length.

A tenor uke has a 17" scale length
and is usually about 26" total length.

For those of you that have experienced the difference, how dramatic is it in terms of playability? I realize you can get used to anything but I'd appreciate your impressions.

scale length..

IMO there is virtually no difference between a concert and a tenor as far as playability, only added frets on the high side. If you measure the distance between the nut and the first fret...I think its nearly identical (or only slightly different) I would guess the same holds true for a soprano, right? (unless the nut width gets narrower...then the neck gets narrower...) I just woke up though, so maybe my brain isn't quite functioning...

i had the chance to play three this past week, going from soprano->concert is not that bad, the hardest part was getting used to the size of the body. from concert-> tenor is very hard both in scale length and body size.
