We bought one of these for my wife's baritone for $32 and I have to say it sounds pretty darn good! The sticky stuff is a bit of a pain to clean off afterwards but it comes off with guitar polish and a paper towel fairly easily. I probably wouldn't use it on a super expensive instrument but on her under $200 baritone no big deal.
I'd have to say, to my ears it sounds better than alot of under saddle pickups IMO.
Now my mother in law wants one for her 8 string Lanikai tenor.

and you'd better have a modern varnish on your uke. Don't try on old patina shellac varnish...
