Violin

Anyone here know much about violins? My daughter has been playing for a bit over a year and is about ready for a full size. The music shop where my boys take lessons has a pietro Belllini violin. It has a few minor scratches but doesn't look like anything major. They want $450 for it. It's about 10 yrs old. He says it has really good strings.
Anyone have any knowledge about this? They will also let us take it to the teacher to check out... School hasn't started yet.
