Hi - I own a small music school in San francisco. Today , someone came in trying to sell a DelVecchio Ukulele . I have found info on a resonator variety but this I think is a concert uke that looks at least 20 years old . It has a black and silver nameplate on the headstock that says Delvecchio and Industria Brasileira and a bunch of numbers that I don't think are model numbers but a phone number. Does anyone know anything about this or where I can find more info?

Are you sure it's a uke? Made in Brasil I would suspect it's more likely to be a Cavaquinho, but I'm pretty sure it can be strung and tuned like a uke. I came across this on the Tiki King site http://www.tikiking.com/uke_db/Del_Vecciodb.html

DelVecchio is still in business and making a lot of types of stringed instruments, resonator and otherwise. They don't currently list a uke, but they have several models of cavaquinhos (cavacos) listed:

They're designed for steel strings, usually tuned GDAD.
