The tension of the baritone uke stings feels quite loose on the Oscar Schmidt Baritone. Other baritone ukes I've used have a firmer tension with the same strings. I'm thinking that there must be a difference in scale length (or action too?) that is causing this.

Regular Aquila baritone strings feel a bit too loose on it for my liking.
Is there a way to make a set from classical guitars which would give me a firmer tension than the regular baritone uke strings? Would an EADG string from a regular classical guitar set be able to tune up to DGBE on a baritone uke scale?

I put a set of nylon guitar strings on one of my baritones, but to get more tension I only used strings 2,3,4 and 5 (ADGB). I tune them DGBE, and that gives me plenty of tension, since each string is tuned higher than it would be on a regular guitar. On my other baritone, I did the same thing, but used the top two Aquila strings from a baritone set. Its only the bass strings that seem floppy on the baritone sets.
