I worked on Jake's version a couple of years back. I didn't get very far before getting sidetracked with other songs. Here is what I came up with for the first sections.
|----9---------------------------|-0-0--0---|-4-4--4---|-(4)--------|
|-10------12p10----10-9---9-7----|-0-0--0---|-4-4--4---|-(4)-----2--|
|------11-------11------9-----7--|-2-2--2---|-6-6--6---|-(6)--------|
|--------------------------------|-0-0--0---|-4-4--4---|-(4)--------|
4/4
|-2----2-4--5-|-(5)-7-5-4--5--(5)-|-(5)---------2-4-|-(4)-5-5s7-5--7s9-|
|-2--5---3----|-------6-6--6--(6)-|-(6)--2-3--5---3-|-(3)-------5------|
|-2------4----|-------6-6--6--(6)-|-(6)----4------4-|-(4)-------6------|
|-0------0----|-------6-6--6--(6)-|-(6)----4------3-|-(3)-------7------|
|-9-7-5-4--5-7-|-(7)-5--4-0-4-2-2-|-(2)--------|
|-------5------|-----6------2---2-|-(2)--------|
|-------5------|-----6------2---4-|-(4)--------|
|-------4------|-----6------4---2-|-(2)--------|

Guys, just remember that Spain is a jazz piece - there is a tune and chords, which Jake plays with whatever voicings he wants, and then he improvises over it, playing chords in whatever way he likes, and adding a tune on top the way he likes - it is different every time he plays it. If you wanna learn to play spain the original, ask me and I'll send you the jazz charts to work from.
yeah set it online and post a link.
i know there is many improvisation there, but first (i think) i have to understand the original to variate...

Guy in the center is using a 10-course cathedral guitar.
One day, somebody should build a 10-course cathedral ukulele.

Other than size, what really differenitates the larger ukes from smaller guitars?

The fact that they have four strings, and like all ukes, are way cooler than any guitar.
