View Full Version : Mainland Tenor - New Uke day!

Got a Mainland Mahogany Tenor off of the UU Marketplace from Magoosan & it arrived today! SWEET!

I'll post a proper review once I pry my fingers away from it (this post is the first time I've come up for air!).

First impressions? It is way more lovely than the photos show either on the Mainland Ukulele site or in the UU thread. And it sounds a dream.

Only thing that I'm not sure I like yet is that it is sporting a "set" of Savarez strings & tuned to Low G. That booming wound G is a bit overpowering yet to my high G tuned ears, but going to leave them on for a week or so to see if they grow on me.

Mainland makes sweet music!

Cool! The mahogany tenor is my favorite of all Mainland's instruments. So warm and rich. And you gotta love the Guadalupe fibre-core strings. My husband uses plain white, but I like the rainbow-dyed for my ukes.
