Hi, I'm doing the Boot Camp and am finding it hard to distinguish between the C chord and the C7 chord when hearing them together or one after the other...are they supposed to sound the same??

Thanks :D

I believe, you may not be strumming through the bottom string. Make sure your strum is complete through all the strings.

Its happened to me more than once.

Thanks :D

I just tried it with a felt plec and it did sound different...guess I need to practise more!

Thanks for the advice :D

Yep, make sure that bottom string is ringing out. In the case of playing a C7 chord with your finger on the 1st fret of bottom string, that fretted note is the dominant 7th (Bb) which gives the chord it's seventh sound. If it's muted, that would explain why your chord just sounds like a C chord. It's good that you are using your ears to detect these things :)

Joey, make sure you're using your finger tip to hold down the chord.
