Please take my word for this...

YouTube's ukejon has done a wonderful video called "Broken Waltz." An amazing song in its own right, he plays it with a broken wrist. His chord choices and voicings are simply beautiful. Check it out at: http://www.mikekasselmusic.com/2/post/2010/10/nothing-wrong-with-ukejons-broken-waltz.html

If you can share this video please do and I'd love to see a discussion of this amazing original song. Mike

PS - what brand of ukulele is this - it does not look like an Eleuke - is it a Ko'olau?

Wow, cool song! Especially so considering his wrist situation!

Yes, it is his Ko'olau. I played it a few weeks back and it plays like buttah. Jon is an amazing player, broken wrist or not.

Very Nice!! How does he get the sustain/drone note in the background? It doesn't appear to be a played note carrying through? Very talented. Thanks!! Lozark

Glad to see you guys appreciate Jon! I had the honor of playing a set with both him and Dominator at the Milwaukee Ukulele Fest this past September. Videos are forthcoming, but there's one of us playing an old country tune:

thanks for posting seeso. You've got alovely voice mate. You guys bounced beautifully off each other...lovely,lovely song.

Jon uses a host of effects and gizmos when he plays live. This is his newest addition, called the Freeze by Electro-Harmonix.

I've been scoping this pedal out. Glad to hear it with an 'ukulele. It's cool, but after hearing it I'm thinking no. Great song and playing though. I'd love to try one of those Ko'olau's sometime.
