Flat and square

Maybe not directly related to luthiery, but this is the best video I've seen so far that covers working rough sawn lumber to dimension with only (inexpensive) hand tools:

His tip about it being easier to flatten a cup than a hump (on both faces and edges) is a good one.

I'm 20 minutes into it, Sweets--interesting video. I have to say, in addition to a sharp plane, it doesn't hurt to have forearms like Popeye!
