hmm these tabs i havnt seen before to be honest. I dont exactly understand them and reading every thread i still didnt understand. But ill explain how i think of it.

so you have ||---- < that basically means strum the bottom 3 with no frets?
so you have ||-0
so you have ||-0
so you have ||-0

and the top || means g? second ||means c? etc...

dont worry about the other tabs sorry. I cant copy and paste them and i understand anyway.

in other words, do i have it correct?

when tabs are written, they are usually represented like this:
A||-0
E||-0
C||-0
G||-0

with the highest string (A) on the top line.

You are reading it right if that is what you meant.

What do the other numbers mean?

||----3--2-3-2-0------0-0---0-----7--8-7-5-3------3-2-3-5--|
||-0-----3-----0----0---1------0-----7-----0----0---3-5-7--|
||-0-----2-----0--0-----0-0----0-----7-----0--0------------|
||-0-----0-----2--------2------0-----7-----0---------------|

SO u play the bottom three with not frets, but what does the other numbers mean for example what does this mean:

l l-------2-
l l-------3-
l l-------2-
l l-------0-

Also when reading a tab how do you know which ones your suppose to pick?

Thank you for your reply in advance!

Thanks for the shout, KosLooney

The numbers refer to the fret you play that string at. So you'd play the G string open, the C string at the second fret, the E string at the third fret, and the A string at the second fret.

When the notes are lined up vertically like that, you play every string that has a number on it at the same time. Then you move on rightwards to the next number (or set of numbers).
