Hi all my dad saw on the net all manner of cigar box ukes, gas can ukes etc etc. My brother works in a timber yard and has glulam laminate off cuts could this in theory be fashioned into a cigar boxesque body to create a budget uke experiment? Thanks for your help please excuse my ignorance Rae

Hey Rae,

Sure go for it, ukulele building knows no boundries
Ukulele tone does.
Post photos when the projects done,
or even underway.

Best of luck on the build.

Cheers.

Right they are solid blocks 115 x 205 x 300 mm i'm assuming they look like this http://www.google.co.uk/m/url?ei=jC...9QEwAg&usg=AFQjCNHNAMzspsnav1xPexiHxonmIoq6CQ I really don't care if it sounds bad it's just some father son bonding time. We would buy the neck etc off mainland but don't know what size would fit these dimensions. Would hollowing it out work or could I saw off strips and dovedove tail a box shape out of it? I've found a eco ukulele built out of the wood on google but it's ukulele shaped and id have no idea how to shape it unless I carved it? Thanks for your replies Rae
