my banjo/uke noy really working out

here is a pic of my tenor banjo that I replaced the head and put some aquila gcea tuning baritone strings on.Doesn't really sound like I hoped it would,I ordered some metal tenor banjo strings today for it.Anyone have any tips on this kind of set up or am I better just playing it as it was designed.....Mike

Title should say "not really working out"

I got rid of my tenor banjo for this very reason. Your best bet is to stick with a banjo uke that was designed to be a banjo uke.
