I am watching last night's Hawai'i 5-0 on the DVR, and there is a kid sitting on the beach playing a KoAloha uke about half-way through the episode.

What song was he playing?

No joke, he really was playing "Hey Soul Sister".:wallbash:

Great glimpses of Hawaii on that show. Ended with Hawaii 78 by Iz. How can you top that? Maybe next week a tour of one of the big ukulele shops on island.

Yes that was a great ending with IZ and Hawaii 78. The kid playing the uke was also a very nice touch.

Groan...when will that insipid tune go away?

It is the only song legally allowed to be heard along with a ukulele on TV now. (I think that piece of legislation got slipped into the stimulus bill. Not too many read the whole thing, you know.)

To his credit, the kid was at least doing the lesser-played first verse rather than the "hey... hey-ey... hey-ey-ey-ey" part, IIRC.
