Basic music notation question

Hi all. My Ukulele is tuned GCEA. The third string, 'C', has the lowest sound. The third fret of the first string is also a 'C'. That means I have two C's that are an octave apart, I would like to know the convention for writing these notes so they can be told apart.

You're right that they're both "C". But they're two different Cs, so you write them in different spots on the staff.

The lowest C is "middle C" and it's written just below the staff, with a ledger line running through it. The higher C is written on the second "space" from the top of the staff:
