What's the difference?

Everything I found on Google said they were in the same family, but nothing about differences.

Thanks

I think the difference is that a true taropatch ukes has a large concert-size (or rather, closer to a tenor size) body with a 15" or so scale length and 8 strings. They are tuned in GCEA . They can be octave stringed in the lower two courses, gGCcEEAA some others have them strung in unison, like a mandolin.GGCCEEAA

8 String ukes are mostly Tenor scale (17") tuned in a similar fashion. Not much of a difference. Body a little bigger and neck scale longer.
