The blue yeti is the next step up from the blue snowball, and I'm a huge fan. $100 on Amazon, but definitely worth it

I love my Blue Snowball Mic, which I grabbed on Amazon for ~$60.

I have the Blue Snowball too. I like it a lot.
It doesn't rock much though, due to the very sturdy tripod base it comes with.

I use the blue yeti for all my sound samples and also recorded a concert at the milwaukee uke fest (I was at the back of the room for the concert and it did awesome)
