Like with the cylinder in line with the neck. Why not?

EDIT: Since, I have had another epiphany: a flask-shaped uke.

thats an interesting idea, would love to see one built, but guess it could be quite difficult?
still would look really cool though!

There used to be cylinder back mandolins. It could work and would look great.
