Just wrote this little ditty down last night. Guess I was in a song writing mood. lol I know it isn't great (kind of weak), but any advice or suggestions would be great since I'm not an actual songwriter. Thanks :)

NEW YORK CITY
Verse

Packing my bags, I'm on my way
to a wonderful place, where people play all day
I'm movin on
to New York City

When you went away
I had enough
sick and tired of all this small town stuff
making a new life (without you)
in New York City

Chorus

Take a bus or a plane it doesn't matter
you can reach the stars without a ladder
things can be so much better
in New York City

New York City releases the pain
it's so much more than fortune and fame
there's so much to gain
in New York City

Verse
Why don't you come with me
and make a new plan
start a new life hand in hand
Let's start again
in New York City

Chorus

See the homeless on the street
they all look beat
and tired of being cold
They're growing old
in New York City.

Good start. Write a hundred more. You've written one, maybe more, you are now an actual songwriter.
