Local Luthier Wins Regional Recognition

Good article, thanks. I'm hoping to have an epiphany like his - knowing what I am supposed to be when I grow up. His ukes are beautiful - currently only tenors and baritone, mostly makes guitars.

I'm proud to say that I'm in the queue for a Lichty ukulele. His ukes and guitars look good on the site and they are marvelous up close.

Met Jay about a month ago in his shop in Tryon. Absolutely beautiful and amazing work he does, I felt so lucky to have found him in my home state. We spent a good three hours going over my ideas and choices and came up with what I think will be a terrific tenor uke. I planned to tell all you UU folks about the details and progress when he actually got a start on it.

He is also, just incidentally, a really nice guy, a real artisan and craftsman. Oh, you can bet I'm excited!

Also, Jay also just received recognition in a section of Sotheby's RESIDE magazine.
