I have one of these and it is a great-sounding and fun (and RARE) uke. I just saw this on eBay, but it ends pretty soon. Hopefully someone can snatch it up at a good price! http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ISLANDER-BARITONE-UKE-MACCAFERRI-/140478918656?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b5323000#ht_500wt_1156

It's at $89 plus shipping right now. I think it goes for $100 more, at least. (I'm not bidding)

Now at $102 with 38 minutes left. I think I paid $125 for mine in January of '09. A month later I had a dealer at the Denver Uke Festival tell me that if they had it in their store they'd ask $500 for it.

Ended at $172. I think that's a good price, even with a crack in the back. The cracks on these things can be glued very easily. In fact, my soprano Islander had its neck pretty much broken off at some point (a fact the seller neglected to mention). It has glue all over it, but it is rock-solid and plays like a champ.

Holy Moley! Check THIS one out! I've only seen this in a couple of books and a museum website! http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-1950S-ISLANDER-BY-MACCAFERRI-ACOUSTIC-GUITAR_W0QQitemZ380290869917QQcategoryZ33021QQcmdZ ViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC %26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFIC S%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D140478918656%26ps%3D 63%26clkid%3D5143568190176150177#ht_500wt_1156
