hey everyone, I've been looking for a tenor to add to my concert, I've got about $400 USD to spend, which are good tenors I should be looking at in this price range? I'm looking for something with a mellower and warmer sound, since I've got a really bright spruce top already.

Many thanks!

Yes, if you want warm look at a mahogany or mango uke. Mele ukuleles are great and also check out Pono ukes.

If you don't already have a Mainland Mahogany Tenor, I think you should consider one. I've got both the Mainland Mahogany & the Mainland Red Cedar Tenor's and both of them are sweet sounding instruments. For the price point, you may also want to look at a Mele - they have a mahogany tenor on eBay right now for $399.

[Disclosure: I am selling my Mahogany tenor (see the UU Marketplace) right now. It has a factory installed Mi-Si pickup & has mellowed to a beautiful tone. The only reason that I am selling is that I have a KoAloha Super Concert w/crown bridge in transit & something had to go to make room.]
