I checked out a Dixie banjo uke recently. Intriguing...
 
Banjo ukes are definitely NOT for everything, but some tunes just pop on them. It's a lot of fun to have the option when you want that tin-pan alley sound.

I know I look WAY too serious there. There are several additional takes where wife and children just plowed through the shot, so by then, I was practically exhausted. :D

Thanks, guys. Yes - you should try one. They are a real trip. Someone I know says they're not really ukes, but then what are they? You can't play these uke strums on an actual banjo or your fingernails will fall off. :)
