Oh nu! I was just playing some "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles, and then CLUNK! my A string comes off on one side D:

40 bucks for this uke, and the strings were put on by tying it. It's a soprano kohala.
TT_TT No uke for a while now i guess. /cant restring it

Aloha YkU,
You mean the string buckled loose at the bridge????Hmmm can you explain better????

basically, my string came off... on one end. it came out of the bridge, and is just hanging off of one side

Did the knot come undone at the bridge?

Because the "A" string is so thin, sometimes the knot at the end will pop through the slot in the bridge. Try tying a bigger knot or do what I do. I put a small bead on the string just above the knot and then put it in the bridge. This can happen on most ukes even expensive ones. The knot ( because it is too small ) gets pulled through the slot in the bridge.

Hi Yku, check this, "how to" by our own Aldrine...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Saxrv0y_XYI
You can do it, (unless your uke acually broke) I was able to manage it. If you need new strings they are under $10.00 a set.
Good luck,
DAP
