Hi All,
I've been looking at possibly purchasing a Kiwaya KTC-1 Concert mahogany uke. I'd like to hear any reviews or opinions from owners of that model uke. Also any opinions on string recommendations for same. Thanks.

Here are some previous threads which may or may not provide you answers. As far as replacement strings, you're gonna have to try different brands to find the sound, feel and playability you desire. You will no doubt get numerous advice and recommendations, but in the end the final decision will be yours. String brands include Worth, Aquila, D'Addario, Fremont, Hilo, Ko'olau . . .

BTW, there's no reason to double post the same questions. I'm deleting your post in the Ukulele Reviews Forum.

Don't have a KTC-1 but I do have a KTS-4 and I love it. Great ukulele. I can't find anything not to like about it.
For strings I use Southcoast ukes strings.

Thanks, I wasn't really sure where to post the question and I thought that maybe some folks read some forums and not others. I know I have a tendency to read a few select forums. Pardon any "double posting".
Thanks for any feed back or reviews folks!

I have recently acquired a fairly new KTC-1. It is a light, beautifully finished uke, sounds very much like my vintage martin 0 , only newer and bigger. I haven't changed the orignial strings yet, I hear they come with Hilo, but it sounds great and plays beautifully, so I;ll wait awhile before I switch, either to worth browns or suncoast sets I have. I would definitely recommend one, if I have time I'll post a sound sample.

Thanks for the feedback strumsilly. I've been considering a couple possible concerts. The Kanilea K-1 and the Kiwaya KTC-1. I kind of really like the look of the Kiwaya. Very understated and vintage. I know the Koa would be a different sound than Mahogany but sometimes strings can craft a sound that you are looking to achieve. Thanks again, a sound bite would be cool.
