Hey Friends- As a follow up to my Two Chord Songbook, I just finished a book called "Wet Your Whistle." It contains 29 bourbon cocktail recipes and 11 folk songs about whiskey/drinking!

It was typed on my vintage typewriter and illustrated by my wife Nicole. It fits in your pocket or ukulele case and is printed on recycled paper. It includes classic recipes, my own inventions and lot of recipes I found on the road with my band. There also are little bits of historical info, anecdotes etc...

I love only one thing more than playing my Uke...Bourbon. That said, I would never mix it with anything (ie. cocktail...hope those are just ice), but I certainly have the Hesitation Blues- ordered.

Yup, I understand the need for straight bourbon, but, there are several old timey cocktails that are not sweet and still feature good bourbon well. A proper old fashioned or a sazerac with a high end bouron is a life changer!

A true New Orleans Sazerac is made with Rye and with Peychaud's bitters. It is a whole different drink with a much different character than when made with Bourbon and Angostura bitters.

I love rye in a Sazerac. I like Fee Brother's Bitters best, though.

I have a friend who is a Scotch man, which I don't really like. Rye is our compromise.
