While I wait for my strumming to improve, I am learning scales.
learning scales means learning the note positions with each scale. I then use the notes to make the chords and finger noodle around.
I had really never had a desire to learn the minor scale. I have been mainly practicing major, pentatonic, and blues scales.
Last night, I was playing the natural minor scale and it is so emotive particularly if you slow the music down. It was giving me reason to learn the control of the attack and decay. Rests seemed to be very vibrant in this scale.
My "new" scale. I think I'll be playing more of this. The reason is the emotive nature. Now I'm curios about melodic minor and harmonic minor scales and some of the interesting modes (locrian)
What is your favorite scale?
