I don't see anything as of yet on this tuning. I love it and now use it almost exclusively.
*It works great for chord melody.
*If one picks over the E string, it gives you 5ths (like violin)-and one can pick fiddle *tunes and celtic reels and jigs.
*It gives a deeper bass note and sets a nice 1-5 bass for accompanying others.

That's a new tuning to me. If it works, go for it!

I've heard of using a mandolin tuning (GDAE, low to high) Don't know if it works with standard string sets. I guess you could swap the 1st & 2nd strings (the A & E) and voila! you have a single course nylon stringed mandolin. You could do low G or re-entrant.

I sometimes like to tune my Tenor in Bb6 (F Bb D G) so I can play along with Bb instruments such as trumpet & clarinet without having to transpose. I tune my Concert uke to C6 (GCEA-normal) and tune my Soprano to D6 (A D F# B) to play some old sheet music, and to play some bluegrass & old time tunes.

All good reasons to have more ukuleles!
