Makai Ukuleles

Anybody have any experience with Makai ukuleles? They look very similar to some Ohana models. Made in the same factory perhaps? Any thoughts on quality? Sound?

I asked the same question in the "uke review" section a month or so ago and the general opinion was that they are good ukes.
They are made in S.F. Ca. If I remember correctly they are make in the Ohana factory. Not top of the line, but well made and dependable.
I'm in the S.F. Bay Area and there are a ton in the local craigslist.

Makais are nice ukes, definitely on a par with Ohana. I have the bottom-of-the-line UK-55 which I purchased as a wall hanger and to get Jake to sign...but I've played it a few times and have been pleasantly surprised.
