Do you use different kinds of strings on your banjo uke as comapared to your regular ukes? I know Aquila makes a banjo uke set with a wound C string - does that make much of a sound difference? Would regular strings be fine?

I prefer regular soprano strings, I did not like the wound string on my banjo.

Regular Aquila concert strings were the way to go for me. The wound string would always come undone.

Another vote for regular Aquilas. I've used the banjo uke strings and they're ok, but the regular soprano strings have a better feel, especially when tuned up to D tuning. I also like La Bella Senoritas for a couple of mine, and I have Aquila guts are on my smallest uke, a MayBell 20.

I went ahead and ordered some regular Aquilas from Elderly.com. Thanks for the input!

I kinda like the wound- why does everyone dislike them? Mine has come undone once, I just loosened, retied and was good to go.

I don't hate them. I have them on one of my Strombergs and they sound good. I just prefer the sopranos and other maker's medium/light strings.
