That is too bad, it would really take some work to get it in shape again.
 
Ouch- wonder if, for the right price, one could mill it down a little thinner and have some nice old wood in the body and a new top?
Koa back and sides, new red cedar top double K...hmmmmmmm
 
How does a uke like that work?
No place for a saddle.
 
Actually this one is in alot better than the last water soaked one..a little sanding and putty...he he....
or to Kamaka to be revived...MM Stan....
 
I wouldn't repair it. I would just play it if it doesn't get any worse. I'ts the ukulele version of Willy Nelsons guitar.
 
Heh, heh. Except that Willy's got that way 'cause he wore a hole in it playing it - this looks like somebody might have tried to drive nails with it. Maybe the previous owner lived in a rough neighborhood and it saved his life...

Looks like the bridge has been reglued. @ BobN, that's how the earlier ones were made, no saddle. I have an earlier pineapple with the same bridge.

This one doesn't really look like that much glue, it probably plays fine, it just has an extra soundhole, lol, courtesy of termites, or someone stepped on or sat on it.

PS: I like the idea of a new top, cedar would be cool. I'd do a real bridge and saddle if so.
