Aloha, I just received from my family a vintage Kamaka Pineapple Ukulele 1920 -1930. It has four cracks in the body. The rest is in very good condition. All is original, bindings are in great shape. Just the cracks. My question, shoud I try to seal the cracks using Hyde Glue or leave it alone. The uke has no strings on it (yet).

I would think about sending it to Kamaka for repair.....or take it to an experienced luthier. Depending on where the cracks are, how bad they are, and other factors, they may need to be cleated. IMHO, a uke like that is worth spending a few bucks on to do it right! I would love to see some pictures!!!

Aloha Molokinirum,
Can you post some pictures so I can tell which model and year it is...most likely like what Ryan has said, send it to Kamaka for repairs, it would be cheaper and they would do the best job....only the wait, but it
will be worth it...even with shipping it would be cheaper....take pictures and email it to them and ask..
