So I purchased my strings and the gauges are supposed to go

1st-024 2-032... etc.

I own a baritone ukulele and I want make these strings work for me.. I may have purchased the wrong strings.

Anyways, I need to know which gauge for which string!

Like is the .024 for the E or the D string?!

Aloha Kevin,
Welcome to the UU and our forums....it should say on your package...I'm not sure if you got wound strings or not and what set you got...but the B string is thicker than the E
I hope this helps..Good Luck!! MM Stan...

Most bari strings go from thick to thin (thick being the string closest to your face as you hold the instrument when playing, so the thinest string is closest to the floor). If those are the type of strings you have, string 1 will refer to the E string which is closest to the floor. String 2 will be the B string which will be the second thinnest string and the second up from the floor. String 3 will be the G string and may be wound. String 4 will be the fattest string and will most likely be wound. This is the D string. It goes right under you face as you hold it when playing.

However, some strings for baritone are reentrant gcea. Just like a soprano uke.

So I guess right now we need to know exactly what kind of string you have...
