Description: Wielding an instrument often thought of as a "toy," Shimabukuro evokes an awe-inspiring range of sounds and styles, from island lullabies to rock and jazz. This 33-year old Hawaiian ukulele virtuoso has toured with Jimmy Buffett and Bette Midler and played for Queen Elizabeth.

Performing in Louisville in support of his new release, Peace, Love, Ukulele <http://www.amazon.com/Peace-Love-Ukulele-Jake-Shimabukuro/dp/B00477HOUG/ref=ntt_mus_ep_dpt_1> , Jake says "the ukulele is an instrument of peace. If everyone played the ukulele, the world would be a better place."

Alan's added note: I'll bring some sheet music with chords to share during the uke jam. I encourage others to do likewise. Make sure the font is large and bring plenty of copies to share. See you there!

That is a brilliant idea. Wish I were able to come up and join you guys. :)

Sounds like so much fun! I don't know about you guys, but I would be so reluctant to "coat-check" my uke. I must be way overprotective. :)

Kentucky Center's coat check looks like a secure place. I'll be doing it. But I hope that ukers that don't go to the show will still come to the after-show jam. You don't have to go to the concert to jam afterwards!

Probably safer than leaving it in a freezing car.

I'm working out the details for the Friday jam. Please come, even if you don't attend the concert. But why wouldn't you come to the concert?!! :)
