I had them get it out for me when I was at Elderly so I could play with it. I thought about selling my car on the spot so I could come up with the cash to take it home with me, but I didn't want to walk. She's a beauty.

Actually, yeah, I did play that one too! I didn't care for it. I remember thinking that I thought a vintage kamaka should sound better. However, if I recall correctly it didn't have particularly great strings, which can really make all of the difference. Actually, after drooling over a number of the vintage ukes at Elderly online and then getting to play them in person, I really learned that buying a vintage uke without holding it in my hands and playing it first wasn't a good idea for me. Ukes that I thought I would love really bombed, while others I hadn't considered surprised me. As far as this particular uke is concerned, if it were me, I would rather have a new Kamaka pineapple. Might want to keep looking?

perhaps that's why it;s still there. But then again, it could be the strings... And after playing a $6000 uke, that may have been a factor

This uke was actually on the floor, rather than in the back room at the time I was there, so it hasn't sold itself very well. But still, you could satisfy your curiosity and give it a try. I think Elderly has a 48 hour satisfaction guaranteed return policy. You could try putting some new strings on it. Who knows? Maybe this is the one for you!
